Some Portfolios
If you’ve been reading for a while, you’ve probably already taken a look at our welcome/about page. If you haven’t, you might want to go take a look now. On that page we said:
Within a few months we hope to develop two stock portfolios for each candidate. The bullish portfolio will be stocks that might benefit from the candidate’s election. The bearish portfolio includes the stocks that would be harmed. The Election Stocks Community will help to select our official portfolios.
We haven’t created the individual candidate portfolios, but now on Stockpickr.com we have put up Generic Democratic and Republican portfolios. These are just based on generic views and will allow you to get a general feel for what will happen based on which party gains power. For us take make good and accurate individual portfolios, we need some more input in the Candidate Portfolio Forum.
Don’t know what to post? Here are a few ideas to get you started:
1. Make a post in the General section just introducing yourself to the community.
2. Go to the forum of your favorite candidate and make a post saying your three favorite issue positions and/or the three issues that you believe your candidate feels strongest about.
3. Check out the Candidate Issue Summary forum to see an overview of all the candidates positions on various issues. While you can’t post there, if you find something interesting just click the candidates name and post in that forum. Don’t be afraid to start new topics.
4. Take a look at the Stocks forum and discuss the various stocks that we have put up there. You can even add your own stocks to the discussion!
5. Look at the new/unread posts (at the bottom of the main forum page) to see an abundance of topics never replied to. Feel free to be the first.
6. If all this doesn’t help, take a look at the Getting Started forum for more help. If you have specific questions you can also post them there.
The Election Stocks team welcomes forum posts from Guests and Members, but if you plan on posting often (we hope you do) you should register as a member.
