Science Advisers Serious About Alt Energy
In an effort to actively combat global climate change in his administration, Obama named John Holdren and Jane Lubchenco as two of his chief science advisers.
Since the two are “leading experts on climate change who have advocated forceful government action,” it is expected that their ideas in policy form could have serious implications for sectors of the market dealing with energy.
The Market Vector Coal ETF (KOL), for one, might be thrown to the wayside despite Obama’s past advocacy for “clean coal.” In addition to that, it’s great news for the wind and solar stocks that we already predicted might do quite well for themselves, such as Icon (ICLR), Accenture (ACN), Energy Conversion Devices (ENER), LDK Solar (LDK), and General Electric (GE).
