The Left Attacks McCain’s War Record
Although Obama’s camp left the decision open as to whether or not they wanted to swiftboat in this campaign season, those on the far left have made up their minds.
They have criticized McCain’s service in the air force by claiming that pilots don’t have to take responsibilty for or think about the people that live down on the ground where they’re bombing. Many hardcore liberals have also brought to light the fact that McCain made a propaganda video for the enemy while captured in his POW camp.
But most Americans, including opposing candidate Barack Obama, are strongly supportive of McCain’s military service. The average person regards torture at the hands of the enemy one of the biggest sacrifices anyone could make for their country. And with Obama already appearing out of touch with what is commonly called the white working class, this kind of slander on McCain’s service might have a negative impact for the Democratic candidate.
