CNBC On Healthcare
Today, CNBC had Vince Farrell and Kris Jenner on to discuss how healthcare stocks would be affected by the election (click here to watch the video). Jenner believed that speculation at this point couldn’t be used to obtain specific stocks for either candidate, but Farrell seemed skeptical about Jenner’s belief. Either way they both seemed to agree that you should stay away from Big Pharma and go for innovative biotech.
Jenner specific choices were:
Gilead Science (GILD)
Celgene (CELG)
Elan (ELN)
Farrell wholeheartedly agreed with all of Jenner’s choices, and also stressed avoid Big Pharma, specifically mentioning Pfizer (PFE). In addition, Farrell said should Obama be elected, to avoid Humana (HUM) due to price cuts. Farrell also recommended Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) as they are diversified enough to benefit from either candidate.
In conclusion, we think that both of these economists offered great information, although we are, for rather obvious reasons, more partial to Farrell. Hopefully these suggestions can help you out in choosing your investments.
