Deconstructing The Polls
The latest Washington Post/ABC News Poll has Hillary up 52% to Obama’s 20%. Edwards only 13%. This is a big improvement over early Sept. Post survey, which had Hillary at 41%, Obama at 27%, Edwards at 14%.
But there’s more, Chris Cillizza of The Fix, wasingtonpost.com’s Politics Blog, looks deeper.
Hillary has the women, 56%, up with the men to 48%, 56% with self-identified Democrats, up to 46% for Democratic-leaning independents. She has a similar lead in every age group, every region of the country, and every education level.
Looks like Obama and Edwards have their work cut out for them. Don’t count out the fickle finger of fate. As the Fix points out, campaigns can turn on a dime.
